Today is polling day. Polling stations are open from 7am until 10pm this evening. Use your vote to elect local councillor Jon Whitehouse to be our new MP.

Jon Whitehouse, Epping Hemnall councillor

Jon was bought up in Epping and local residents have repeatedly elected him to represent them on Epping Forest District Council and Epping Town Council.

Jon said: "I am campaigning to stop the Brexit mess, for real action to tackle the climate emergency and to improve our public services, which the Conservatives have let down.

"Epping Forest is a brilliant place to live but residents face their fair share of challenges and need an MP who will fight their corner all year round."

The Liberal Democrats came second in Epping Forest district in both elections earlier this year: second to the Brexit Party in the European Elections beating the Conservatives, and second in the local elections in May in terms of vote share.

As well as being a councillor, Jon is treasurer of a local conservation charity and regularly volunteers with his athletics club and local parkrun in Loughton. In his spare time he tries to run regularly: he is due to run his third London Marathon next April and hopes to improve his best time of 2 hours 59 minutes.
