This morning Carole Mulroney, Southend-on-Sea Borough Council Cabinet Member for Environment and Planning, Liberal Democrat Group Leader & Councillor for Leigh Ward released a statement saying:

"Southend Airport have just told me that there is to be a reduction in night flights from 3 to 1. This flight will be around 00.20am with the next being at around 6.25 am.

There are a number of councillors that I have worked with over the last few months in discussions with the Airport and I thank them for their hard work and support. This is a good result, but we should always stay alert to any change and press for the Environmental Action Plan to go forward.".
