Carer ()This Carers Week, Carers UK (www.carersuk.org) is calling for the UK Government to publish a Recovery & Respite Plan for Unpaid Carers - outlining additional support for carers across a range of areas, including breaks, respite and care services, infection control, identification of carers, financial help, and support to help people juggle work alongside their caring responsibilities. Carers UK is asking everyone to write to their own MP and ask that they support Carers UK's campaign to help ensure that all carers get the support they need. Carers UK has provided a template letter and, if you are currently caring, asks that you add your own personal experience of caring and how it has affected you, before sending it. CLICK HERE to go to the template letter.

If you live in the City of Southend and personally are a carer, the local charity, Southend Carers, is here for you. Their website is www.southendcarers.co.uk.

For the avoidance of doubt, this article is not meant to imply that Carers UK or Southend Carers supports or endorses the Liberal Democrats. However Southend Liberal Democrats does strongly support and endorses the work of these charities.
