Justice for Essex’s young people – petition to get students the exam grades they deserve
Thousands of young people in our county, right at the start of their adult lives, have been dealt an unnecessary and damaging blow. And students from private schools have been treated better than those from comprehensives in the "moderating" process. (Read details.)
We should be doing all we can to look after each other during the pandemic, and protect the futures of our young people in particular.
However, the Conservative government has put in place a bodged system to fix exam grades. Grades that young people worked SO hard to achieve have been stolen from them.
It's simply not good enough. Students who achieved top grades across the two years of their courses (whose teacher predictions meant they could get their chosen university course or apprenticeship) cannot be left with broken dreams.
We call upon the Government to ensure our young people get the grades they deserve, not the bodged grades that the Government thinks they can force upon them.
